T Minus 58 days (or thereabouts)

Definitely starting to feel more uncomfortable as the Bean gets bigger and bigger each week. Has a habit of hiding out under my ribs which get rather sore at times. I figure he's unhappy about his small dark space and claustraphobic like his dad. He is also extremely hyperactive and never seems to slow down - wears me out! My hot fudge sundae cravings don't help since the sugar gets him fired up. Why couldn't I crave broccoli or something like that? I hardly ever eat ice-cream or chocolate so I know this is Ian's baby since Ian is a HUGE ice-cream lover. He's happily burned rubber to Dairy Queen when I've demanded my sundaes as he gets his own treat too. Nothing like a compliant husband. We have started to switch from all our pregnancy books to newborn parenting books. We tend to take turns in panicking about being new parents too. Have now aquired most of our nursery items and created a registry at Babies R Us - amazing how much you need to buy for a baby!

T minus 60 days (or thereabouts)

Lucy is now at the seven month mark! It's pretty surreal at times to consider that we have a mere two months until the lil' fella makes his grand entrance. She is gaining about one pound per week (healthy weight gain) and has yet to have any major food aversions. We are certain that "The Bean" (his name until the grand unveiling!) shares my passion for Ice Cream since Lucy has craved Hot Fudge Sundae's for a couple of weeks now.

The Cadillac of Strollers...

We have been pretty fiscally responsible with most of the myriad of baby items, however the stroller became an obsession (of mine I admit), price be damned! We looked at every type under the sun and ultimately settled on a true all-terrain "chariot" - the Mountain Buggy. Made in New Zealand, the Mountain Buggy is the creme-de-la-creme of small human transportation devices. It turns on a dime (without spilling your sugar-free, non-fat hazelnut latte), and its pressurized tires smooth out the roughest trails (and Fernwood streets). Of course, you look cutting-edge chic with the chocolate brown and polka-dot colour scheme! It's so new (2007) that they haven't even published a photo...yes, we are pathetic :) You'll have to settle for this pic of it in blue. Yawn, so yesterday...
